What is Portime?
Portime is a time tracking app for freelancers, consultants, agencies and small teams. You log time against a client, sub-client, project and task, manage tasks on a kanban board, and export reports in Markdown or PDF. It's made by DLake Software and launched in 2026.
How much does Portime cost?
Starter is $15 per month for 1 seat. Pro is $29 per month and includes up to 5 seats. Plans are billed monthly in USD. A Business plan is coming soon.
Is there a free plan?
No. Portime has no free plan. You can try the Starter plan free for 7 days.
Do I need a card for the free trial?
Yes. A valid payment method is required to start the 7-day trial on Starter. If you cancel during the trial, you aren't charged. Pro has no trial and is billed when you subscribe.
What's the difference between Starter and Pro?
Starter is for one person: time, clients, projects, tasks and PDF reports, with 100 assistant requests per month. Pro adds an organization with up to 5 seats, team timesheets (hours by person on the report), advanced report filters (billable, billed, project, person), charts, custom PDF reports and 500 assistant requests per month.
How many seats do I get?
Starter includes 1 seat, and you can't invite anyone. Pro includes up to 5 seats. Extra seats aren't available yet.
How do clients, sub-clients and projects work?
Time is tied to a client, an optional sub-client, a project and a task. A sub-client is useful when you work for an agency or partner on behalf of their end client. Reports can show the client and the sub-client.
Can I track several things at once?
Yes. You can start a timer or add time manually, run more than one timer, and pause and resume a timer. Entries can be billable or non-billable and marked as billed.
What reports can I export?
Monthly activity reports grouped by client and project, exported as Markdown or PDF. On Pro you can filter by billable, billed, project and person, see charts, and create custom PDF reports.
Does Portime send invoices?
No. Portime doesn't create or send invoices. It gives you billing-ready reports that you can use with your invoicing tool.
What does the in-app assistant do?
The assistant knows your clients, projects, tasks and time entries. You can ask questions like "What did I work on for Acme last month?", get summaries, and ask it to log or change entries. Starter includes 100 requests per month and Pro 500.
Can I use Portime from Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor or Grok?
Yes, through Portime's MCP server. On a paid organization (Starter or Pro, including the Starter trial), create a personal access token in Account → Security and add the MCP endpoint to Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, Grok or another MCP client.
What is Portime Recap?
Recap is a small macOS menu-bar app. It listens to a meeting, then you confirm the proposed tasks in Portime. Nothing is created until you accept. If no timer was running, you can accept the meeting duration as a time entry. Only you can see your recordings. Recap is included on Starter and Pro, including the Starter trial, and needs macOS 13 or later.
Is Recap available on Windows?
Not yet. Recap is macOS only for now.
Is Portime available in French?
Yes. Portime is available in English and French.
Is Portime for agencies?
Yes, for small agencies. Log time against clients and projects, then see hours by person on Pro (up to 5 seats). A Business plan with more teams and seats is coming later.
How do I cancel?
You can cancel at any time from your account settings. Cancellation stops future renewals, and your plan stays active until the end of the current billing period. There are no cancellation fees.
Can I get a refund?
You can request a refund within 30 days of your first paid subscription. Requests made in good faith are generally approved. After 30 days, refunds are reviewed case by case.
Do you use my data to train AI models?
No. Prompts and responses may be processed by third-party AI providers, such as OpenAI, only to generate responses. Portime doesn't use your private data to train public AI models.
Where is my data hosted?
Portime is hosted on OVHcloud in France. Some features rely on third-party providers, such as OpenAI for the assistant and Stripe for payments.
Can I export or delete my data?
You can request access to your data, a correction, an export, or deletion of your account by contacting [email protected].
How do I sign in?
With email and password, with Google or Microsoft, or with a passkey. Multi-factor authentication is available.
